Our lash rope is double braided nylon, same material as our lead ropes. It is very durable, holds a knot, and is supple in all weather. The standard length is 48 feet, long enough for most horses. Both ends are finished with heavy duty rubber shrink.
We use 3/8 rope for our lash ropes. It makes a lighter rope, much easier to tie the diamonds or any finishing knot, than the ½ inch rope. 3/8 double braided nylon is plenty strong enough for any horse pack.
The lash rope is also long enough to be used for a sling rope, the basket or barrel hitch.
